Most European shipments arrive within 2-5 business days, depending on the route. Domestic shipments are typically faster (2-3 days), while cross-border routes may take up to 5 days.

No. buycycle Shipping is open to everyone. You do not need to have bought or sold a bike on the buycycle marketplace. Just create a free shipping account to book and track your shipment.

E-bikes with integrated batteries cannot be shipped due to carrier restrictions on lithium-ion batteries in freight transport. If you can remove the battery and ship the frame separately (without the battery), you may be able to ship it as a standard bike. Contact support if you are unsure.

The weight and dimensions printed on the shipping label may not match your actual box, and some labels describe the shipment as an e-bike. Both are normal and have no effect on your shipment or price. What matters is that your box stays under 45 kg, with the longest side under 274 cm and length + girth under 380 cm.

Yes. During booking you can add multiple boxes to a single order. Each box is picked up and delivered together on the same route.

If you miss the pickup window, you can reschedule from your dashboard. Most missed pickups can be rebooked for the next working day at no extra charge.

Yes. You can reschedule your pickup from your shipment dashboard before the carrier arrives. Rescheduling is free of charge.

Yes. During booking you can select your shipment type: full bike, frame only, or wheelset. Pricing and box recommendations adjust accordingly.

We offer three pre-sized bike boxes: Extra-small (114 x 30 x 76 cm) for frames and wheels, Small (149 x 24 x 76 cm) for most road and gravel bikes, and Medium (149 x 31 x 84 cm) for most mountain bikes and larger frames. You can also use your own box.

Yes. You can use any sturdy cardboard box that fits within the maximum dimensions: 274 cm length, 380 cm girth (length + 2 x width + 2 x height), and 50 kg maximum weight.

Remove the wheels, pedals, and handlebars. Wrap each component individually with foam or bubble wrap. Protect the derailleur and disc brake rotors with extra padding. Place everything snugly in the box so nothing shifts during transit. Fill any gaps with packing material.

Yes. You can add a buycycle bike box during checkout and we will deliver it to your pickup address before the scheduled pickup date. You can also purchase boxes standalone from services.buycycle.com.

Yes. For safe transport, remove the wheels, pedals, and handlebars (or turn them sideways). This is standard practice for bike shipping and helps the bike fit in the box while reducing the risk of damage.

Pricing is fixed by route. Domestic shipments start at EUR 39. Cross-border within core EU (Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy) start at EUR 59. Other European routes start at EUR 69. Get an instant quote by entering your origin and destination.

No. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. There are no fuel surcharges, weekend supplements, or hidden fees added later.

For private senders, prices include VAT. For commercial senders, prices are shown ex-VAT, and the applicable VAT is added at checkout based on your country.

Yes. Commercial senders (bike shops, businesses) see ex-VAT pricing and get a lower Premium Protection rate. Select 'Commercial' at the start of the booking process.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other local payment methods available through our payment provider.

Premium Protection is an optional add-on that provides coverage beyond standard carrier liability. It covers you for up to the declared value of your bike (maximum EUR 20,000 per shipment) in the event of loss or significant damage during transit. Compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis.

The protection fee is calculated as a percentage of the declared market value of your bike. The exact cost is shown during checkout before you pay. The minimum declared value for protection is EUR 250.

In Europe, standard carrier liability under the CMR Convention is based on weight (approximately EUR 12 per kg), not value. A typical 20 kg bike gets roughly EUR 240 of coverage regardless of its worth. In the US, standard carrier liability is typically limited to $100 per shipment.

Go to your shipment dashboard, select the affected order, and submit a claim with clear photos of the damage. Include as much detail as possible. Claims must be filed through the dashboard, not by email.

You have 48 hours from delivery to inspect the bike and file a claim. Always accept the delivery, even if the box looks damaged. Refusing delivery makes it much harder to process a claim.

Provide clear, high-quality photos of the damage, including the bike still inside the box if possible. This helps our team determine whether the damage occurred during transport.

We aim to review claims within 5 business days. This may take longer if we need additional information, documentation, or input from the carrier. We will keep you updated throughout.

If you select Premium Protection, we require 7 photos documenting the bike's condition before and during packing. These are essential evidence for any claim. They prove the bike's condition before transit and that it was properly packaged. Without them, claims cannot be processed. Your shipping label becomes available only after all photos are uploaded.

Log in to your dashboard and go to your shipments. You will see live tracking updates at every checkpoint. No separate carrier logins needed.

Yes. The recipient receives tracking updates by email automatically. You can also share your tracking link directly with the buyer.

Gaps of 24-48 hours between tracking scans are normal, especially during cross-border transfers or weekends. If there are no updates for more than 3 business days, contact support through your dashboard.

Log in to your dashboard and go to the Invoices section. Each paid order has a downloadable invoice.
