Sending a bicycle across Europe used to be a logistical headache. With a dedicated bike-shipping service it is now a five-step process you can finish in minutes. This guide walks you through each step so you know what to expect, whether you are a private rider sending a bike to its new owner, a shop fulfilling an online order, or a team moving equipment to a race.
1. Get an instant quote and book online
Pricing is fixed by route, not negotiated per shipment. Domestic routes inside one country start at €59, and cross-border European routes start at €75. Commercial prices are quoted ex-VAT. Private senders see prices with their country's VAT already included.
To book, choose the origin and destination, the type of shipment (full bike, frame only, or wheelset), the box you will use, and the declared market value. You get a fixed total in seconds. No callback, no waiting on a sales rep.
2. Pack the bike
You can use your own box or order one of our pre-sized boxes during checkout:
- Extra-small (114 x 30 x 76 cm) fits frames, wheels, and small components
- Small (149 x 24 x 76 cm) fits most road and gravel bikes
- Medium (149 x 31 x 84 cm) fits most mountain bikes and larger frames
If you use your own box, the limits are: maximum length 274 cm, maximum girth (length + 2 x width + 2 x height) 380 cm, and maximum weight 45 kg. If your box exceeds these limits we will not be able to ship it and you will need to use an official buycycle box instead. If it exceeds the maximum dimensions accepted by our logistics partners, an oversize surcharge of €318 plus processing fees may apply.
With the wheels, pedals, and handlebars off, what matters most is padding anything that can rub or shift in transit. Our packing guide walks you through it step by step, box size by box size.

3. Pickup at your door
After booking, you choose a pickup window. The carrier collects the box from the address you gave us: home, shop, or workshop. Once your shipping label is ready in your dashboard, print it 4 times. Attach one copy to the outside front of the box and one to the outside side, place one more inside the box, and have the last one signed by the courier at pickup. You never have to drop the bike off anywhere. The courier scans the parcel at pickup and takes it from there.
If nobody is there during your pickup window, contact our support team with the new date you want. We need at least 1 business day between your request and the new pickup date, so tell us as early as you can. The next attempt is free of charge.

4. Tracking in transit
Once the box is on the move, your dashboard shows live updates at every checkpoint: origin scan, transfer, last mile, out for delivery. It works the same across all our carrier partners, usually UPS or FedEx on cross-border routes and regional carriers on some domestic ones. You never need a separate login.
5. Delivery
Most shipments arrive within 2-7 working days of pickup, though in rare cases it can take up to 14 working days. These are estimates built from past shipments on each route, and you see the estimate for your exact route before you book. The recipient signs at handover, so give the box a quick look first. If there is visible damage, the courier can note it on the spot, which makes any follow-up much easier.
What's included as standard
Every shipment includes real-time tracking, door-to-door pickup and delivery, and standard carrier liability for loss or damage. In Europe that liability is capped by weight rather than by what the bike is worth, at roughly €10 per kilogram (8.33 SDR per kilogram under the CMR convention), so on a light bike the carrier's own cap sits well below the replacement cost.
There are no hidden fees: the price you see at checkout is the price you pay, with no fuel surcharge or weekend supplement appearing later. The one exception is the oversize surcharge, which applies only if your own box exceeds our size and weight limits.
Optional Premium Protection
If your bike is worth more than standard carrier liability covers, add Premium Protection at checkout. It costs 1.4% of the declared market value for private senders and 0.7% for commercial senders, plus €5 per bike. The minimum declared value is €250, and cover runs up to €6,000 per bike rather than per shipment, so on a multi-bike order every bike carries its own cover. To file a claim, contact our support team within 48 hours of delivery.
Where we ship
We ship to and from most European countries, across Western, Northern, Central, and Southern Europe. Europe is one cross-border network, so a bike going from a shop in Italy to a rider in the Netherlands books exactly like a domestic shipment. We do not ship between Europe and the US. The full list of supported routes appears when you start a quote, and you can also find it in our FAQs.
