About us
Built on years of shipments
buycycle Shipping launched in 2026 as a standalone service, built on the operational infrastructure behind tens of thousands of bike deliveries across Europe.
How it started
Shipping built into every sale
buycycle started as a marketplace for pre-owned bikes. From day one, that meant solving a hard problem: how do you move a bicycle from a seller in Berlin to a buyer in Barcelona without it arriving damaged, late, or lost?
Over several years and tens of thousands of shipments, the team built deep expertise in bike logistics. Carrier relationships, claims handling, customs coordination, and packaging that actually works. The infrastructure that existed to serve marketplace transactions turned out to be something people wanted on its own terms.
In 2026, we opened the service to everyone. Whether you are shipping a bike you sold on another platform, transporting your own bike to a race, moving abroad, or sending a fleet of bikes for a corporate event, you now have access to the same logistics infrastructure that buycycle's marketplace has run on for years.

How we operate
Not a booking layer. A shipping service.
Most bike shipping platforms act as intermediaries and step back once the carrier takes over. We stay involved throughout, because that is the only way to deliver a service that is genuinely reliable.
01
Support stays in-house
Our customer support team works from our Munich office alongside the product, logistics, and operations teams. When something goes wrong, the person helping you understands bike shipping. We do not outsource this.
02
Claims handled by mechanics
Disputes about bike condition are reviewed by experienced mechanics. Each case is assessed individually using evidence from both parties, with the goal of making consistent, fair decisions. Both senders and recipients are treated with equal care.
03
We handle the complexity
Cross-border shipping involves carrier handoffs, customs documentation, access restrictions, and exceptions that most platforms ignore. When a pickup is missed or a delivery stalls, our team steps in directly and keeps you informed.
04
Coverage is built in
Every shipment includes standard coverage. Premium coverage is available at booking. We verify declared values and handle claims directly, so riders do not have to navigate carrier bureaucracy on their own.
Our mission
Distance should be irrelevant
Our mission is to make bike shipping as simple and reliable as local handover. Where a bike starts and where it needs to go should not determine how difficult or risky the transaction is.
We build the infrastructure, maintain the carrier relationships, and handle the operational complexity so that riders, shops, and teams can focus on what matters. Whether you are shipping a single road bike or coordinating a fleet for an event, the process should be the same: simple, trackable, and covered.
“We built the shipping infrastructure to serve the marketplace. When riders started asking to use it directly, it was the clearest signal we could get.”
